Come and Be Killed

Having inherited money, Rachel Gardner had come to Australia to visit her brother, but not only was he not at the airport, he was not at his lodgings either and his Greek landlord was evasive about his whereabouts. Accepting that her best course was to sleep off jet-lag and wait for his return, Rachel awoke to find she was alone in the house. Ian's landlord had also disappeared. It was becoming a frightening series of events for Rachel, which soon included the knowledge that someone wanted her dead. Inexorably, she was drawn into the unhappy lives of her brother's employers, where the family was riven by discovered deceptions and a mysterious death occurred. Alone in an alien environment, Rachel needed all her sharp wits, not to mention the support of the young doctor who had a habit of surfacing whenever she needed him most.
