Ellis Stack, Sheriff of Red Rock City, is promoted to US Marshall and his first task is to bring to justice the ruthless murderer, Hans Wolfson and his gang. Whilst Ellis is away, the Wolf, as he is known, murders Esther, Ellis's wife. Ellis pursues the Wolf with thoughts of revenge.
