(2022)Lee and Ezekiel's Tale
(Book 3.5 in the Tyack and Frayne Mysteries series)
A Novella by Harper Fox
Friends of the Tyack & Frayne books will already know the storyline of Don’t Let Go, volume three in the series. The story first appeared in serial format via Harper's Patreon, and her Patrons have already received a copy in her post of 1 January 2022. So, strange though it is for her to say, if you're one of those lovely generous people, please don't buy this version of the book! You have it already, or can download it from that Patreon post.
Although this short story has its own dynamic, it is definitely not a stand-alone. The action begins on Gideon's day off, a sunny weekend when he and Lee are doing their best to forge family connections at lunch with Ma and Ezekiel. Don't Let Go tells Gideon's version of events from that point on: his emergency call-out, as a newly-promoted sergeant, to a murder at a jewellery store, and the injuries he sustains in pursuit of his suspect.
But what about poor Lee and Zeke? All they have in common is their love for Gid, who is drifting away from them hour by hour as he slips deeper into a coma. Neither Lee nor Zeke on his own has the power to recall him. Somehow, in the anguished days at Gideon's bedside, these two wildly different men must find a way to pool their knowledge of Gid's character, and enable Lee to enter his lover's mind in a spirit journey that will guide him back to life.
And to do that, Lee and Zeke must get to know each other! It's a daunting task, and their struggle forms the story of this short tale from Harper's well-loved Tyack & Frayne Mystery, Don't Let Go.
Genre: Gay Romance
