HUGH FLEETWOOD was born in Sussex, England in 1944. Having studied in Paris, in 1965 he moved to Italy where he lived for the next fourteen years. He had his first exhibition in 1973 at the Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto.An award-winning poet and novelist as well as a painter, Fleetwood has published nineteen books, for a number of which he designed the jackets.His paintings are in collections in the U.K., the U.S.A., France, Italy and Germany; his last one-man show was at the St. Raphael Gallery in London. Fleetwood now lives in England.
