Gringo

There were two kinds of law in this hell-bent town. One was the gun -- the other was a stranger they all called GRINGO. He rode into town -- young, green, and every inch a gentleman -- everything that made him all wrong, dead wrong, for a whooping place like Santa Fe, where havoc broke loose every night of the week and the smallest disagreement was settled with a bullet. If the damn fool gringo survived for a week, he could count himself lucky, everyone thought. The gringo survived -- for more than a week.
