Cabe Calaway would sooner swallow a porcupine than tussle with Jovie St. John.

Jovie is stubborn, aloof, and darn right rude to him most of the time. He knows all that about her, and he steers clear of her whenever possible. Even though owning the ranch next to his family ranch makes that hard sometimes. What he doesn’t know is why she asked him to dance at the barn raising event his brothers had held. It was totally out of character.

Cabe has known Jovie all of his life, and she’s always been reserved and unapproachable, even as a child. But when her father died and left her the Crooked Creek Ranch to run, it seemed she was more determined than ever to show the world how tough she was.

When an early winter snowstorm threatens to strand some wild horses, Jovie asks for Cabe's help. Despite his reservations, he's willing to help. But Jovie might need to mellow out a little if she wants his full cooperation. The snowstorm is just the beginning as Cabe and Jovie try to figure out how to finally get along.

A Place To Hang Your Hat is the fifth book in the Calaway Crossing Series.
