A few years have passed since the devastating Sarassian attack on Earth.
Millions are dead. Earth is rebuilding whatever can be rebuilt, but with little progress. Making ready for the inevitable return of the enemy.
The world has been awakened to the truth: humans are no longer alone in the universe. Technically, they never were, but still. Only a select few people had known the truth for years, and most of us were none the wiser. Now everybody knows that our planet has a target on its back, and it is only a matter of time until someone takes the shot.
The world also became aware of yet another thing: the universe itself is both incredibly beautiful and excruciatingly dangerousand simply harsh. And it doesn't really care if a whole species of living beings continues on living or simply dies out.
And the Sarassians, however bad for business as usual they might be, are not necessarily the worst that can happen.
It turns out that if you keep looking in the dark, sooner or later, you will always find something more deplorable than your previously worst enemy.
Genre: Science Fiction
