The Story of Albert Hattersley, Britain's Most Notorious Peterman
A non fiction book by

This is the compelling story of Albert Hattersley: one of Britain's most infamous Petermen, whose exploits put him at the top of his chosen criminal profession and mad him one of The Regional Crime Squads top targets for many years.
From dragging safes off bomb sites in the centre of Sheffield, and practising blowing them open in woods near his home, Albert went on to commit some of the biggest, and most audacious safe blowing jobs, both in this country and abroad.
He was so revered by his counterparts that the London gangs came calling and in the 1950's he went on to work for Britain's most powerful post-war crime boss - Billy Hill.
Associating with George 'Taters' Chatham (Eastcastle Street Robbery) and Peter Scott (The Gentleman thief).
Albert plundered some of the best safes in London. His exploits became legendary, so much so that on two occasions the security services approached him to steal top-secret information.
Albert has always been a shadowy, elusive and intensely private person, and for decades the subject of police attention, but no one ever came close to knowing the true facts of his criminal enterprise.
Now at 90 years old he has decided it is time to share his story.
