Book nine in the Slater and Norman Mystery SeriesSo what’s in a name? It turns out to be quite a lot, as newly installed private detectives Dave Slater and Norman Norman find when they take on the case of an elderly man found dead in his home.

Tinton Police can’t close the case quick enough, but Slater and Norman just know there’s more to the story than first appears. As they delve into the past to find out the truth behind the seemingly innocent death of Joe Dalgetty, they quickly find themselves plunged into a web of deceit, lies, and danger which has spanned decades.

As if that wasn’t enough, Slater is locked in an internal struggle between his love of police work and his friendship with Norman, and he’s also determined to get to the bottom of another mystery – what happened to turn high-flying barrister Jenny Radford into a down and out living on the streets of Tinton? His secretive lodger still won’t spill the beans, but Slater knows it’s up to him to protect her from whoever is out to get her.

The question is, how will he manage any of this without the clout of Tinton Police behind him? And will Slater’s and Norman’s new venture weather the storm?

A fun mystery

Not quite police procedural, and not quite cozy mystery, the Dave Slater Mystery Series is a series that has a sense of humour and doesn’t take itself too seriously. If that’s the sort of mystery you like, you need look no further.
