Mystery and Malice aboard RMS Ballast
(2024)(The eighth book in the Anty Boisjoly Mystery series)
A novel by PJ Fitzsimmons
A 1920s cosy aboard a yacht on the Scilly Seas
Golden-age gadabout Anty Boisjoly, his valet Vickers, the weary and wary Inspector Wittersham, and a passenger list of howling eccentrics find themselves prey to the sway and spray of the Scilly Seas when what at first seems a simple, unexplainable, locked-stateroom murder twists into a tale of pirate treasure, perilous weather and treacherous endeavours at sea.
Just as with all Anty Boisjoly stand-alone stumpers, Mystery and Malice aboard RMS Ballast is best enjoyed by those who can stand some slight silliness in their maritime mysteries.
Anty Boisjoly Mysteries are old-school, clean and cosy, locked-room mysteries with improbable plots inspired by Agatha Christie written in the style of an homage to PG Wodehouse.
Can such a niche pastiche work? Let's let the readers decide...
Fun and funny...not a dull moment
All the Anty Boisjoly Mysteries are a delight for those of us who still appreciate a good laugh and an over the top twisty/turn-y murder mystery. Great characters, great mysteries, great fun. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Part Way Through I Bought the Entire Series
"P. G. Wodehouse meets Dorothy Sayers" is a perfect description but doesn't do full justice to how hysterically funny these are. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Anty Boisjoly does it again
Laugh out loud funny. I highly recommend them all. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A very good cozy mystery series
Being a mystery reader and a fan of Wodehouse, I thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful cozy murder mysteries in Fitzsimmons Anty Boisjoly series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love this series!
The author can't write them fast enough. I have to parcel the books out so I don't run out. If you are a fan of classic crime fiction and Blackadder these are for you. ️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Best series ever!
I love the Anty series. The stories are great and the characters are terrific. The writing is amazing. Always a fun read and often a laugh out loud moment. Very clever. Can not wait for the next one!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
