Hyder Ali is a young journalist, working for the Daily Times Newspaper, when his mentor and professor, Eric Freeland, is found hanging in his home. Freeland's daughter, Jessica, shows up on Hyder's doorstep, convinced that her father has been murdered.
Detective Tom Nolan is assigned to the Freeland case, but he is more interested in sitting in a bar and getting drunk than actually solving the crime.
At first, the death looks like an open-and-shut suicide case, but as Hyder, Jessica, and Nolan began to dig deeper, they uncover a sinister plot that threatens to engulf them all.
As they race against time to uncover the truth, they find themselves caught in a dangerous web of lies and deception.
