16 y/o Lex Freeman is the unwanted son of Baron Rudolph Fairlane, the finest mage ever known to the kingdom of Ustonia. Lex is the result of his father's secret relationship with a tavern girl, Lex although Baron Fairlane's oldest is not his heir, but his bastard. Lex though took after his father in more than just looks, Lex could use magic is ways that has also never been seen or thought of, when Ustonia goes to war with the powerful Razorian Empire, Lex can finally prove himself and make a name as something other than Fairlane's bastard. He can become the Mage of Ustonia.
