Blessed Assurance

Allan Gurganus was born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He lives in Manhattan and in Chapel Hill. Gurganus's short fiction has appeared in Harper's, The Atlantic, Granta, Antaeus, The Paris Review, The New Yorker, and elsewhere. He has won many awards including two grants from the National Endowment. His drawings and paintings are represented in major private collections, university museums, nd the North Carolina Museum of art
