A collection of four Last Roman short stories. Three of the stories were previously published as individual stories (Horns, Hatchet and Monsoon). Impaled is a new addition to The Last Roman universe.
Horns
In 1187 A.D., Saladin, the founder of the Ayyubid dynasty, raised a mighty army and promised to destroy the Crusader States of the Levant. Guy of Lusignan, King of Jerusalem, will marshal all available forces to meet this rising threat. Marcus, The Last Roman, will join this force as it marches to engage Saladin. Heavily outnumbered, will the crusaders prevail or will the desert exact a price that no man can pay.
Hatchet
Most of the fighting-age men have abandoned the town of Tortosa. Isabella, one of the few remaining soldiers, must rally the remaining citizens against an advancing Moorish army. But will her skills and leadership be enough?
Inspired by a true story, Hatchet is a short story based in The Last Roman universe.
Impaled
How much pain can one man endure before he takes his revenge on the world?
It has been twenty-three years since Constantinople fell to Ottoman forces. That was the last time Thomas saw Marcus. Now, a new terror rises in the east, butchering innocent Ottoman civilians. Is Marcus taking his revenge or are there other cruel forces at play? Follow Thomas as he tries to find out.
