Oscar Grant and Jeff Burns were business partners presiding over Onyx Bank and Trust. Oscar was the husband to Kiari Grant and Jeff was her father, complicit in Onyx Bank and Trust’s defrauding their clientele out of millions of dollars. Kiari was given to Oscar as a part of Oscar and Jeff’s business arrangement. When Oscar was hospitalized and placed in a medically induced coma, initially Kiari felt sad, but then she grew angry because of the realization of what transpired between her and her husband because of her father.

Then Amir St. Hillaire entered her life. Amir was a billionaire mogul who ran his life like he ran his business - with order and intention. The only person who could pull out his personality was his mother. Amir was her primary caregiver and while looking after her he collided with Kiari whose stunning beauty catches his attention instantly. Amir and Kiari start to interact, and they discovered a connection that was undeniable. Though Kiari carries an angry, broken heart, she allows herself to breathe, and find freedom with Amir. In doing so Kiari wonders if he could be her one true love or if the matters of her heart are a figment of her imagination.
