Portal Jumper Cassie never came home. Troy doesn't recognize the program that he's devoted his life to, and now his best friend is missing, presumed dead. They had her memorial months ago. He's adrift, trying to figure out what his life is supposed to be like, until a change at work forces him to come to grips with the real problems with the portal program. He can't go back to the way things were, but can he find a way to build a future that he's interested in living in?
