A novel by

April 1, 1944, San Francisco, California. Reports of strange lights in the sky were no joke. They were, in fact, alien invaders. The lights could be seen every night, darting through the sky for days after. After the initial war nerves were put to rest. Folks started calling the strange lights “Foo Fighters” after the cartoon strip.
On April 9, 1944, a strange dense fog rolled in over the city. That’s when the Walinzi invaders attacked under the cover of the fog, unseen until they were on shore. They easily wiped out the mighty gun batteries protecting the Presidio and the city. The invaders continued on unintentionally cutting off the head of the army when they destroyed the Western Defense Command and Fourth Army Headquarters, which were responsible for coordinating the defenses of the entire West Coast.
Once all contact was lost with the Presidio and all the units assigned there, the 183 Regimental Combat Team “Fire Fighters” were brought in to investigate. The unit whose responsibility was a mobile fighting force in case of invasion by the Japanese. Once they entered San Francisco, they were attacked by fearless, rabid five foot tall crabs intent only on eating. Their masters, the Walinzi, had no compassion or fear as their “pets devoured an Army and a city of innocent civilians. The 183rd prewarned were able to halt the invader's advance. That’s when the Battle for San Francisco got decidedly hotter.
