Keith F. Goodnight is a native Texan, born and raised in Dallas, and is a distant relative of famous cowboy and rancher Charles Goodnight, inventor of the Chuck wagon. Growing up, Keith read a great many books and also did other things, probably, but apart from the books it's all a bit of a blur.
Keith went to college at Rice University in Houston, TX. There he majored in biology, staying on through grad school to eventually earn a PhD in Behavioral Ecology in a lab that studied wasps. He only got stung once while doing it. He also joined the Rice University Marching Owl Band, where he once performed a halftime show while dressed as a Christmas tree, and remains an alumni member to this day.
When not writing, Keith enjoys cooking, working on his model railroad, and being an obsessive fan of Doctor Who.
