Unsuspecting Betrayal
(2021)(The first book in the Deranged Drifters MC series)
A novel by Logan Gray
She left 10 years ago, and he's been angry ever since.
She returns with secrets of her own, including the feelings she's kept buried since she was fourteen years old.
Will her secrets destroy them when it puts her and everyone she loves in danger, or will he destroy them with his own cycle of sabotage to any happiness he may have?
When a blast from the past walks into the Deranged Drifters clubhouse after ten years, one of the most feared motorcycle clubs in the tri-state area has unplanned surprises in store for them.
Lex Dalton walks into the clubhouse she left ten years before, and she carries with her secrets she hopes to leave in the dust. Instead, she focuses on the club. First, she has to decide whether she wants to help her half-brother who spent her entire life hating her for their father's mistakes, or helping him with the woman he's fallen head over heels for.
Second, she needs to work to set her safety net in place without actually sharing her secret with the only men she knows could help her. Her feelings of carrying the world on her shoulders isn't one she can easily shake.
Third, and most important, is confronting her childhood best friend, Colt Nichols. When she was forced to leave the clubhouse with her mom a decade before, she lost her family as well as her best friend. Now, she's demanding answers.
Colt Nichols has to face the music when he sees Lex again. The feelings he had as a teenager have only grown, but he holds her leaving against her. After watching her fall right back into place with the club as though she never left, he learns leaving wasn't her fault. Or her choice.
The two finally find their way to each other, but a series of betrayals in Colt's life take over and turn his entire world upside down. In true Colt fashion, self destruction is his decision of choice, and he makes mistake after mistake with Lex.
Danger with the club reaches new heights when disaster strikes his family, and he decides it's best for Lex to be anywhere but with the club. He takes drastic measures one night in an attempt to force her to leave, but he learns quickly the true danger he put her in that has nothing to do with the club. Her secrets have come back to haunt her, and it's not just her life in the balance.
Can they find a way back to each other, or has too much damage been done? Is the threat to her too much to survive, both physically and emotionally? Can he right his wrongs before it's too late?
**This is a rewrite from the original, cleaning up plot holes and grammatical errors. The story is the same with a few added scenes.
Genre: Romantic Suspense
