A Novella by Mark B Gilgam
True Courage
Harmar Säsorgison von Asringholm comes to Isenkliff to have an Aurora-blade forged from the swords of defeated warriors. Whatever Harmar wanted, he took - ships, villages, even cities, and got rich by selling whole captive populations into slavery in the southern ports of the White Sea. Completely cold-blooded in battle, he has never been defeated. Now he must cross a blade with Kitt, for that is the condition for anyone who wants Eckehart’s, the smith’s of Isenkliff, steel. Will the infamous shiplord leave Isenkliff with an Aurora-blade?
The Longest Night
There are many worlds, light and dark, and our world is one rotating between light and darkness. When the longest night of the year comes, the worlds we touch are all dark, Hollgard under-the-root and the icy domains of Thursheim, where the giants came from. Then, they all become one, which allows beings to come to earth who are also dark and cold, and some of them are very powerful.
Every year his mother sends Kitt to bed early in the Longest Night because if you can’t see the dark visitors, they won’t see you either. But this time, Aslaug’s sleeping potion sends the floorboards under Kitt’s bed to sleep because he wants to stand the guard with his father.
