Few tourists ever stopped at the small, isolated town of Hargreaves, which was as the townsfolk wanted it. Therefore, when a wealthy widow passed through by accident with her ward, fell in love with the quiet little town and decided to buy a home there and stay on, it caused a major sensation. Then when the local doctor evinced some interest in the ward, although he was convinced that she could never accept his way of life, it led to some heartaches as well.
