Can shy, geeky, Shannon Kennedy outrun her stalker or will she be this serial killer’s next victim?
Shannon Kennedy is a shy, glasses-wearing, mechanical engineer, hiding from romance on an old Adirondack Great Camp. While out for an early morning run, her newly adopted search and rescue dog, Reiza, leads her to a dead body. Shannon calls her grisly discovery into 9-1-1 bringing State Police Detective, Liam Gordon, into her life.
For the first time since his wife died two years earlier, Liam is willing to risk romance with the attractive and intelligent, runner. He knows in his gut she’s innocent, but finding the evidence to prove that is elusive. Bogged down with a series of robberies and addressing a biker gang trying to establish themselves in the area, he has trouble devoting the time he wants to the murder case and his more personal desire to get to know Shannon.
When she disappears and Liam is shot, the Troopers need to decide if she was kidnapped by the bikers or if a serial killer really stalks the Adirondacks. Can Shannon use her newly acquired search and rescue skills to save herself, or will she perish, never to be found again?
This book is set in the Adirondack Mountains, specifically near Saranac Lake, NY and presents the experience of starting to work as a search and rescue canine handler.
