Three years ago, life was perfect. Emmitt Grimes was rehired at Divine Light Ranch, and he was dating Andi Sutton. But then, Andi’s mom had a stroke, and Andi quit working at the ranch to help tend to her and take care of her younger sister.
A lot has happened in those three years, and now, Emmitt has two goals: one, to gain his father’s approval, something he’s never had, and two, to move on from Andi, considering he still hasn’t.
He has the perfect idea for his first goal—to take his father to a football game—but when his father blows up at Emmitt yet again, Emmitt changes course and opts instead to start a football team with his cowboy friends instead.
