Made, born, raised in New York City. Receivedan MFA in Creative Writing from the
University of Michigan. Before that, attended Brown University and Stuyvesant High
School, where her English teacher, Frank McCourt, became her mentor and is largely
to blame for her being a writer. She currently divides her time between Geneva,
Switzerland and NYC. Since She keeps getting queries from schools using her work in
speech contests: Yes, She was born after 1960. No, she doesn't put her exact birthday on the
