Attending the funeral of his only Uncle in a remote village that occupies a small, wind-swept corner of a peninsula in the north-west of Scotland, Detective Inspector Jim Aitken is in a reflective mood. There are no suspicious circumstances around the death of his Uncle David, and if nothing else, it is an opportunity to catch-up with the life of his cousin Kevin and some of the friends that Aitken remembers from his visits to the area as a young man.
Then the snow comes in - an extreme blast of the raw power of nature, that makes travelling to or from the village of Auchencross impossible for some days and on the night of the funeral, one of the villagers is found stabbed to death on the beach.
With no one else to turn to, the responsibility falls upon Aitken to try and unravel what is behind the sudden and brutal crime spree, that rips through the village, before anyone else is targeted.
Genre: Mystery
