Adele Holmes practiced pediatrics for over twenty years before retiring to write. Though a lifelong Southerner, she and her husband Chris travel extensively, having explored all seven continents. It is travel to which she credits her desire to make a difference in the world through the written word—especially in causes involving children, racial discrimination, and women’s rights.
Winter’s Reckoning is her debut novel. Pre-publication it won Honorable Mention in the William Faulkner Literary Competition and won First Place in the Chanticleer International Book Awards-Goethe Award.

The Ways of Water (2023)
Teresa H Janssen
"Teresa H. Janssen draws a riveting story that I could not put down. It is reminiscent of Jeannette Walls's Half Broke Horses and Kristin Hannah's The Four Winds. The prose is exceptional... The imagery is breathtakingly vivid... But it is the fully fleshed-out characters that will grab the reader and refuse to release them, even long after the reading is complete. I look forward to more from this exciting debut author."
