Growing up in the foster care system is any kids worst nightmare. Especially so for Nate, who didn’t tick any of the traditional boxes. That all changed for him the day he met Ms. Leta. She let him be who he was without judgement. Now, following in her footsteps, Nate has his own brood of foster children with their own complicated past to wade through, but he's determined to help them through it as a family.

Eli learned early on to conform to the expectations put on him by his family. Doing what felt right for him wouldn't be tolerated under any circumstances. When a stranger comes into his life stirring up memories he'd worked hard to forget it sends his life into a tailspin.

He goes back to where it all started to confront the lies that'd flipped his world on its head only to find more questions than answers. As he unravels his memories, separating truth from nightmares, he wonders if he's doing more harm than good. But when he finds an ally from an unlikely source can he push past his own fears to keep someone from making the same mistakes he did?

NATE is an angst-ridden romance in the Single Dads of Gaynor Beach world with a man coming to terms with his past, a dad fighting for his kid and his business, and a family that is as accepting as it is unique.
