Amy is a New York Times Bestselling Author and an ALA "Notable Book" and Peabody Award Winner. She began her career as a daily newspaper reporter in Florida in the 1980s. Her first book, the New York Times Bestseller, HAVING OUR SAY: THE DELANY SISTERS' FIRST 100 YEARS, spawned a Broadway play and film. Amy wrote six more nonfiction books before trying her hand at fiction. In 2012, Simon & Schuster's Atria imprint published her first novel, MISS DREAMSVILLE AND THE COLLIER COUNTY WOMEN'S LITERARY SOCIETY. Amy's sequel, MISS DREAMSVILLE AND THE LOST HEIRESS OF COLLIER COUNTY, was published Sept. 8, 2015. Amy and her husband, a Collier County native, live in the Greater New York Area with their rescue dog, Dot, a 7-pound Boston Terrier.
