Bob Howard

Bob Howard is an American author who lives in the Charleston, South Carolina area. His father was in the US Army stationed at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey when Bob was born, so he began traveling at an early age. He started school in Naha, Okinawa but finished that first year in Maryland. From there they moved to Nurnberg, Germany, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and finally to Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. Bob joined the Navy and continued to move with stops in Florida, Connecticut, Virginia, Rhode Island, Scotland, and finally Charleston. He graduated from the College of Charleston with a BS in Psychology in 1978. He married his wife in 1984, and they have two great kids who encouraged Bob to do what he always dreamt of doing, and that is to write fiction. If you ask him who he would most like to be compared with, he would tell you that Robert A Heinlein was his earliest inspiration, and Andre Norton was a close second. His most recent favorite is Stephen Baxter. Bob started writing zombie apocalypse novels because he wanted to write something that was less of the bloody gore and more about the meaning of survival. A reviewer referred to him as an “early Heinlein”, and he hopes to live up to that high praise.
