How did you come up with the concept for this story?
My sister phoned one day and said, "Our cousin Kenny got himself in a world of trouble."
"What did he do this time?"
"He held up a train that ran down his steer. But that's not the best part."
"Okay, lay it on me."
"He married his parole officer."
See? It pays to have unusual family members and a sister who appreciates a good story. I hardly had to make anything up!
Who's your favorite character?
Grady's father, Caleb. You gotta love an old cowboy who takes up meditation and wants to visit India.
