Bobby and Eddie Rico, two brothers in their mid-twenties, are living like mushrooms in the dank basement of their mother's house in Winding River, Ohio. Since the day of their High School graduation, they have been waiting for "the call" from their uncle Frank, whom they are convinced is a powerful Detroit crime boss, but how they arrived at that impression is unclear. They are Italian, his only nephews, and are certain that Uncle Frank is just waiting for the right opportunity to bring them into the "family business" so they can get started on their long awaited path of larceny and fortune as "made men" in the Detroit mob scene. Now, prompted by a mother desperate to get them out of the nest, Frank finally calls and asks the boys to retrieve something from the sleepy little town of Cornelia, Georgia. As their simple task turns into a seemingly endless quest filled with unexpected detours, youthful indiscretions, and bad decisions, the boys must find answers to some crucial questions: Will they sink or swim? Grow up or go down? And who are those goons in the black sedans that seem to be following them wherever they go?
