DIANE HANKS has a BFA and MA in Creative Writing from Emerson College in Boston, MA. She first saw the name Annie Fox in relation to her job as a medical writer. Diane was writing about VA's Annie app-used to send text messages to veterans about self-care-and discovered that it was named after Lt. Annie Fox. It seemed a shame that she'd never heard about the first woman to earn a Purple Heart, so Diane did some research, inspiring her to write this story.

The Woman with no Name (2024)
Audrey Blake
"You will feel like you know Yvonne Rudellat from the start. Rather than a superhero, she?s an ordinary woman who makes extraordinary sacrifices for her country. A mother. A spy. A saboteur. Yvonne becomes who she needs to be in order to help her country during WWII. Her story is as fast-paced as it is well-researched. Authenticity shows itself on every page. It was a pleasure to read, as well as an education about the heroics of the French Resistance. I can't imagine a more heroic woman than Yvonne Rudellat, who exemplified the courage of so many men and women whose stories may never be told."
