Pat was so looking forward to rejoining her family in Kenya after years of absence - but she hadn't expected to find that she now had a stepmother. True, the stepmother was quite kindly disposed towards her, but all the same, she didn't really want Pat staying there indefinitely, so it was not surprising that she was rather anxious to get her married off to wealthy Paul Drayton-Duke. but much as she liked Paul, Pat just couldn't bring herself to consider him as a husband - especially once she met Harland Scott, and fell in love with him so hard and so fast. Which, it seemed, was a waste of her time, as her sister Lisa had already earmarked Harland for herself. Altogether Pat's homecoming had not turned out to be the happy event she had hoped for!
