Ghost Eater

In his first command, young Captain Vanders must lead a desperate river journey to rescue missionaries along a remote jungle river. He soon finds himself burdened with a set of unexpected, mysterious passengers, each traveling to the mission known as 'Light of the World' for devious reasons of their own. Along the way, Vanders encounters an exotic world darkly lit with the flames of social upheaval, superstition, and strife. He must struggle to hold on to his own sanity as well, for this is a journey that brings him face to face with his own buried past and deepest fears. Set in 19th century Sumatra, Ghost Eater marks the introduction of an intense new voice in sea-faring adventure.
