Born in Magic

She didn't know what was in her. She would learn that the the ripples in the air she had seen all her life represented an uncontrolled power. But that was the least of it. With power comes those who will take advantage of it given half a chance. And with power comes fear. Fear from your family and neighbors. The people she trusted sold her into bondage out of fear. Maybe they didn't know any better, but that didn't do her a lot of good.
Sold into an apprenticeship that amounted to slavery, she would have to learn to understand her power mostly on her own. But the world is not all bad, even to a child born with the curse of magic. There are kind and caring people, if you can only find them. There is courage and hope and bravery, if you can find them in yourself and your friends . . . even in your enemies. One thing for sure, it was going to be one heck of a ride.
