The nerve-racking predicament of its crew of six - incarcerated together with their fears, emotions and frictions - shrinks to nothing beside the horrifying destruction which threatens hundreds of thousands of people on earth if nothing can be found to move the satellite from its decaying orbit. The lethal radioactive fuel, Uranium 235, which the vessel is carrying gives the crisis an acute international urgency, and the politicians play out their power games in the light of this desperate knowledge.
