The Challenge of the North
Oskar Hedin, head of the fur department of old John McNabb's big store, loved fur, and the romance of fur. His father had been a Viking sailor who traded with the natives in the far North and died in the ice floes of the frozen sea. Fur was now his obsession.
And when Oskar looked at the Russian sable coat spread upon a table before him he thought of the one woman who was fit to wear it. Jean McNabb. The boss's daughter. It was her 21st birthday and whether Jean's father liked it or not, Oskar was determined that things were about to change.

The Gold Girl
Patty Sinclair reined in her horse at the top of a low divide and gazed helplessly around her. She was lost. The trail had grown fainter and fainter with its ascent of the creek bed disappeared entirely at the slope of loose rock. That was when he sauntered along: "Good evenin', Miss," he greeted. "Lost?"
"No," she lied brazenly, "I came here on purpose--I--I like it here." She felt the lameness of the lie and her cheeks flushed. The man didn't believe her, of course, but he was too much a gentleman to make her feel uncomfortable. Instead, he admired her fine figure and gave her directions to get back on the trail. And as she left, he hoped they'd meet again. The sooner the better.

The Gun Brand
An exciting Wild West story about a frontier settlement in Northwestern Canada, the exploits of a river crew and a feisty, beautiful woman.
