Irish-American Danny O'Flaherty goes to Ballycara, Ireland, to research his roots. When he arrives at the house of his cousin, Rose, Danny finds that she has been brutally murdered. Garda Kelly, a local cop, immediately accuses Danny of her murder. Danny has to reveal the killer in order to save himself.
Searching through birth, death and church records, talking to community members, unearthing hidden feuds and secret motives, leads Danny step-by-step to the culprit. He not only solves the mystery of his cousin's death, but the mystery of his family origins, which are inexplicably bound together.
