Something Bad Wrong (2023)
(Jess Keeler, book 1)
Eryk Pruitt
"A rising crime-fiction star, Eryk Pruitt is at the height of his powers with Something Bad Wrong, a page-turning story of people caught between truth and lies, justice and corruption, and life and death. Pruitt utilizes his experience as an (excellent) true crime podcaster to expertly plot a narrative that weaves two timelines, rich with twists and mystery. Above all, Pruitt has the crime writer's greatest gift of being able to slice into the human heart so he can show you its darkest, bloodiest chambers."
Cruz (2022)
Nicolás Ferraro
"As cold and shocking as a gun barrel against your neck, Cruz is about the blood you share with family, and the blood you spill because of it, set in the savage underbelly of Argentina. A darkly fun, fast-paced and compulsively readable noir thriller."
Complicit (2022)
Winnie M Li
"COMPLICIT by Winnie M Li is one of the best novels about the dark side of Hollywood that I have read. Winnie understands the inner workings of the movie business, but more importantly, she understands the moral complexity and emotional tolls of working in a business that doesn't just tolerate, but actively rewards bad behavior. It's about how your dreams are used against you, and how power seduces, and how quickly moral grayness fades to black."
