I am NOT adorable

(2018)
A Story by

Jimmy is as smart as paint, with a heart as big as a dinner dish. Everybody says he is going to be the best guide dog ever.

Jimmy isn't so sure.

It doesn't help that Lottie, the puppy walker, is a big, loud lady whose love life is off the leash or that the cat next door is a bully.

The first chance Jimmy gets, he is going to run away ...

Told in Jimmy's voice, I am NOT adorable is a heartwarming, engaging and fun-filled story, full of adventure, ideal for parents, carers and children to share. Award-winning author Julie Hearn's own experiences as a blind person give the book its special resonance. Anyone who loves dogs and is curious to find out how cute puppies become loyal guide dogs will be captivated by Jimmy's tale.

Julie Hearn is the author of seven critically-acclaimed children's books, including The Merrybegot, which was shortlisted for the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize, and Rowan the Strange, which was shortlisted for the CILIP Carnegie Medal and the UKLA Book Award. Julie teaches creative writing for Oxford University and has worked as a writer in residence at Cheney School, Oxford. She was registered blind in 2016.
