A Coverton Mills Romance, vol. 2 Because of his past experience with them, all of Jude Winslow's friends know he won't have anything to do with politicians or preachers. Enter widow, Kay Littleton, a US Senator who has no idea of his prejudice. Her occupation isn't talked about when she comes to Coverton Mills to visit her nephew, who works at the large farm owned his in-laws, the Parkers. When Jude comes to the Parker farm to help fight a barn fire, he meets Kay and falls for this tiny woman on sight. After giving his heart he feels betrayed when he learns she's a politician. As much in love as he, Kay is devastated, but can't understand why Jude has rejected her. Knowing there is nothing she can do to change his mind, she gives up her dream of retiring to North Caroline and goes back to Washington. Then a secret letter is found which turns everything upside down.
