Ahdeben’s new role as head of the guard was one he took seriously. Now that his closest friend ruled the southern region of Mhahzin, he was determined to keep the Royal Family and the residents of the area safe.

Unfortunately, that meant he had to put his decades long dream of Claiming a mate of his own on hold. He couldn’t allow anyone or anything to distract him from his duties.

But now that Elven women are allowed to join the men on the Royal guard, he finds one woman in particular more than distracting. She has possessed him mind and body.

Dhamora’s goal was to protect the women of her region who’d been victimized for far too long. The moment females were permitted to join the male Elves in training to become a member of the Royal guard, she didn’t hesitate to volunteer.

She knew there were plenty of men who didn’t want to see a woman in any form of leadership. She didn’t expect to receive the constant stares and glares from the head of the guard.

But as time passes, she begins to wonder if he’s glaring because he resents her position or if he’s staring for the same reason she can’t seem to keep her eyes off him.

The Elven world is fraught with violence. Unfortunately, she and the rest of the guard find themselves the target of assassination attempts.

All Dhamora and Ahdeben can do now is pray to Mother Universe that they will have the opportunity to explore what is growing between them before the enemy tears them apart.
