(Hunter and Clewe Mystery, book 1)
Victoria Gilbert
"When Jane Hunter, sixty-year-old former university librarian turned archivist starts a new job working for thirty-something Cameron Clewe, who is as agoraphobic and socially awkward as he is rich and handsome, she expects to find an interesting collection waiting to be cataloged. Instead she finds a body in the library. The victim is Cam's ex-girlfriend, which puts her new employer at the top of the suspect list. Having little faith that the police will look farther afield, Jane and Cam join forces to find the killer. With an interesting new crime fighting duo, a nice supporting cast and wide suspect pool, this well-paced and well-plotted mystery is sure to entertain."
Final Cut (2023)
(Hollywood Mystery, book 1)
Marjorie McCown
"Key costumer Joey Jessop prefers working behind the scenes, but she's thrust into the spotlight when she stumbles over the dead body of an assistant director on the first day of shooting a big-budget superhero movie. The fact that the victim was involved with both the predatory director of the film and Joey's ex raises the stakes. When Joey starts receiving threatening messages, she realizes she'll have to take a leading role in finding the killer. Author McCown has spent over twenty-five years in Hollywood costume design and dishes the dirt on what really happens on a movie set. A fascinating look at how that movie magic is made, combined with a fun, fast-moving plot and plenty of red herrings."
