Titch Johnson wants to be special. He's tired of being average and normal and ordinary; he wants to be the best at something. But he's not a champion runner like Monster Dixon and he doesn't have great ideas like Jarvis - the only thing he's any good at is balancing a fork on the end of his nose. As it turns out though, this skill is not nearly as useless as it seems, for it gives him the opportunity to raise money for his local hospital, while attempting to set a new world record. Mark Haddon has also written "Gilbert's Gobstopper", "A Narrow Escape for Princess Sharon" and "Gridzbi Spudvetch".
