Mary's seven Young Adult novels include: THE SERIOUS KISS, PERFECT GIRL, PRETTY FACE and the SUSANNA Series.Her books combine humor with real-life drama--stories ranging from growing up in an alcoholic family (THE SERIOUS KISS) to being a curvy girl in body-obsessed Los Angeles (PRETTY FACE)  to the perils of a family full of secrets (TWO SISTERS).Mary's latest novel, THE WOMAN IN THE PHOTO, is a compulsively-readable tale of two young women--one in elegant Gilded Age America, one in scrappy modern-day California--whose lives are linked by an old photograph taken in the aftermath of one of America's largest disasters: The Johnstown Flood. It's Downton Abbey meets Titanic. Mary has also written for several national magazines. Personal stories, mostly, such as "Lasting Lessons" (Woman's Day) about the final days of her mother's life, "Malibu Dreamin'" (Coastal Living) about her longings as a young writer, and "Taking the Peroxide Plunge" (Fitness) about life in the blonde lane.
