All Waj ever wanted, from the day he left Pakistan to go to college in lowa, was to live his American dream. A life in the bright lights of celebrity and showbiz in New York City. His world is upended when he crosses paths with Ron Diamond, retired pornstar, real estate mogul, and reality TV guru, on the day that Ron decides to take on the biggest reality show on the planet: an American presidential election.

Ron's opponent in the election is Senator Jessica May, the scion of one of America's oldest families, endeavouring to become the first female President. But May's approach of hard work, no mess-ups, and no drama is tested in the face of Ron Diamond's chaotic, take-no-prisoners campaign that threatens to change the nature of American politics.

Meanwhile, in Pakistan, Waj's father, Shakaib, frustrated by what he sees as the line of kleptocratic political dynasties that dominate politics, is inspired by Javed Afridi, a dimwitted former professional footballer and playboy. Afridi decides to enter politics because, really, running a country can't be much harder than running a football club. What could possibly go wrong?
