For almost a decade, broadcaster Paul Heiney shared his life with a pig called Alice on his farm in Suffolk. It was an often tempestuous relationship, although ultimately a very loving one. He tells the tales of her adventures with new-born piglets, the visiting boar, the escapes and recaptures, the day she took hold of his trousers and said, 'come here, you're all mine now!' And how he escaped in the nick of time. This is a celebration of one particular pig, who understood far more about contentment than many of us.
