Beth Peters ran away from her home in Missouri to Fort Ellis in the Territories. Her father was a Colonel there. But she hadn't realized there was a huge war about to happen with The Sioux. Custer had raided a village with only women and children, killing all of them. So Sitting Bull was on rampage for revenge. When Beth arrived her father told her he was sending her home until things quieted down, and Noah, an Indian scout would see she got home safely.
