Jonathan Deacon has a roving commission in the Special Investigation Branch of the Royal Military Police.
He is the man who polices the military.
But when one of his army friends, Imran Iqbal, is shot dead after going on an attempted killing spree with an automatic weapon in the Aldershot Garrison barracks, he has to investigate a case that is very close to home.
Iqbals killing spree could not have come at a worse time. Tensions had been growing steadily in the UK since the advent of the Iraq war and were only made worse by the war in Afghanistan.
Two rival organisations: Albion Awake, and their dedicated opponents, The Swords of Islam, are stirring up conflict in their communities.
Was Iqbal recruited by The Swords of Islam?
Deacon doesnt think so - Iqbal was an easy going guy with no religious hang-ups and no chip on his shoulder.
So why did he go berserk?
As the tension builds between Albion Awake and The Swords of Islam, and riots between the communities threaten London, Deacon must dig deep to get to the heart of the matter
Can he stop this Ill Wind from spreading through the heart of London?
Or will it blow away the peace of the city...
'An Ill Wind' is a tough, urban thriller that is perfect for fans of Lee Child and Andy McNab.
'A tense, gritty story that will keep you guessing to the last page.' - Tom Kasey, best-selling author of 'Trade-Off.'
Roger Hurn has had over 70 books published including the best-selling Ryan Kyd series. In his spare time Roger plays seven-a-side football and, to the horror of music lovers everywhere, guitar in a rock band.
Genre: Thriller
