Sheila Hancock

Sheila Hancock was born in 1933 on the Isle of Wight. She attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and her career went on to span theatre, television, radio and film. In 2007, she won an Olivier Award for her performance in the musical Cabaret. She won the British Books Awards Author of the Year in 2005 for The Two Of Us, about her life with the late actor John Thaw; the follow-up, Just Me, is out now in paperback. She is currently starring in Sister Act in the West End of London.
